NRMCA Certified Delivery Professional Mentor Operators

The Mentors of Frontier Materials Company are continually trained, experienced, and certified Ready Mix delivery professionals. The training of our mentors takes from 6 to 8 months depending on the delivery schedules and then monthly to continue the education.  The training covers everything from concrete basics to teambuilding, from driving safety to leadership skills. The final act of the training process is an intense certification test from the National Ready Mix Concrete Association including a Vehicle Inspection Test that satisfies the DOT regulations.

Before our mentors were considered for the program they had to clear extensive background scrutiny. All of our Mentors have at least 2 years with the company. They all have hauled at least 6,000 cubic yards in the past twelve months and they all have a spotless accident record, some as long as 6 consecutive years.

Upon completing the training, testing, and certification processes, the mentors are assigned a group of fellow mixer operators at their home plant. It is then the mentors’ responsibility to build the teamwork to provide outstanding customer service. Part of their responsibilities include checking the trucks every morning in conjunction with the mixer operator to make sure the truck is physically fit to deliver the customers needs. Secondly, the mentors check the loads as they are loaded on his team member’s truck in order to make sure they are the correct slump and consistency the customer has requested. Then, continually throughout the day, the mentors relay information back to our dispatch department. Information such as: order increases, driving conditions, job site conditions, suggested driving directions, etc to help dispatch effectively satisfy the customer’s needs.

Teamwork within the mentor group and dispatch department are two more of the building blocks Frontier Materials Company uses to supply “Quality Products – On Time”.
